Island concept art

A recent project i undertook was concept art for a floating island. To achieve this i gathered front and side views of cliff sides as well as pipes and houses. I put them all together, lowered the opacity, made a new layer and then started to trace around the water tower, island and pipes i had inserted into the image. After doing this i made a new layer and this was for the coloring. After i had colored i made another layer and added the shading to the image. The final thing i done was merging all the previous layers into one and added a lens flare effect onto it.

Honestly, i really enjoyed doing this task, for as basic and simple as it is i think it looks pretty good, i cant wait to do more.
